Simple E-Learning Solution to take the Confusion out of Finances

Netgen has recently completed a software development project for a client who wanted an online e-learning solution for a financial literacy course he created – www.financialpassport.co.za The client required an easy to use e-learning model that could be purchased and accessed by students online. The system also needed to allow him to manage the users, payments and course material in the background. The backend administration section also allows the client to communicate either via email or SMS with his students from the system.

The Financial Passport course is a comprehensive financial literacy training course aimed at training employees of both corporate and government sectors to be more financially confident and learn good financial habits. The material is broken down into 22 separate modules ranging from topics such as Your Personal Budget to Understanding Shares.

Netgen developed a simple system that makes the process easy for students to access course information. Once payment has been confirmed users can to log in and view all 22 modules and decide which they would like to view depending on their needs. The modules are made up of course slides, a downloadable workbook and an audio file with an integrated audio player – each module has a number of true or false questions related to the material in order for students to test their own knowledge. Students are able to see which courses they have completed and are able to go back to these to refresh their knowledge if necessary.

The client also required an online payment option, which Netgen was able to deliver by integrating a secure payment gateway for all payment transactions to take place online.

In order to give a public face to the course Netgen designed and developed a website with the usual corporate information and including details of the courses and registration process.

All in all a user friendly e-learning solution created to take the confusion out of finances and giving student access to simple yet critical skills that can make an enormous difference in their lives.
